He graduated in economics and started his career in 1969 with the IFOP institute in Paris (a well-known market and opinion research company in France), where he met Jean-Marc Lech, his future business partner. From 1972 to 1975 he was Research Director at the IRSEC institute. In 1975, he created Ipsos.
